The Year 5 & 6 Image-Based Comprehension Bundle contains all 20 themed resources, designed to develop the more advanced retrieval, cross-referencing and information-handling skills pupils need as they progress through Key Stage 2.

Rather than beginning with a traditional written passage, each resource uses a detailed, information-rich image based on the kinds of texts and information pupils encounter in everyday life. Pupils must skim and scan, navigate different layouts, identify relevant details and combine information from multiple parts of an image to answer questions accurately.

As pupils progress into Year 5 and Year 6, the challenge moves beyond simply locating a single piece of information. They must compare, connect and cross-reference multiple details, using different pieces of information together to reach the correct answer.
