Image-Based Comprehension provides pupils with a different way to practise the essential skills that underpin successful reading comprehension.

Instead of beginning with a written passage, pupils are presented with a detailed, information-rich image containing signs, labels, prices, objects and visual clues. They must skim and scan the image, locate relevant information and retrieve the details needed to answer each question.

By reducing the amount of continuous text pupils need to decode and process, the resource allows them to focus more closely on the comprehension process itself.
